Halloween at the Green Turtle Club!

Green Turtle Club reopened with a big "BOO" just in time for Halloween! On October 28th, 2010 after Ray and his team spent almost 7 weeks cleaning, painting, fixing and just generally putting the polish on the product, we were ready to rock and roll! And rock and roll we did... to the sounds and stylings of the "Gully Roosters," the #1 Band in the nation on October 30th for our annual Halloween Costume Party and Buffet. There were great prizes including a free day golf cart rental donated by D&P Rentals and a set of Grill Grates donated by the Barretts from the Grill Grate Company. It was a wonderful time and the staff was glad to be back and always happy to see Greg Rolle from the Ministry of Tourism and Terry Spurlock with their "Lobster Fly In "group. Make your plans early for next year and the Halloween Lobster Fly In/Costume Party.

Junkanoo is Coming!

Get ready for Junkanoo. January 1st, 2011 is just around the corner and the L'il Island Slammers are pasting, got the Junkanoo shack open for getting the costumes ready and practicing will be starting soon. When we wake up at 5am and hear the faint beat of the drums or the horns way out here in White Sound, we all know "Christmas Comin!" Weddings, Weddings, Weddings!

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Philip Niles who were married at the Green Turtle Club on the 9th of August. We are so honored that they chose the Green Turtle Club and wish them all the happiness in the world as they begin their new life together!


Cacique Finalist

Congratulations to our own Molly McIntosh for being a finalist for Sales Executive of the Year Cacique Award. These awards are given annually to people, places, functions and organizations that show outstanding productivity and commitment to keeping the highest professional standard in tourism in the Bahamas. Island Roots Heritage Festival is also up for a Cacique Award and we are rooting for both Molly and the IRHF to bring home the "Duho" which is a statue of the ceremonial wooden stool used by the Cacique and made by the Taino people and Lucayan Indians who were the original inhabitants of the Bahama Islands.

Congratulations are also in order for the Green Turtle Club Turtles, who are The Abaco Champion Softball team and are going on the play in the Finals! Green Turtle Club is proud to be the team's sponsor and very proud of all the hard work they put in and how well they have done, especially Michael Sawyer and Tyler Sawyer, who are both on the team and members of our staff. 2011 Lionfish Derby

It's not too early to plan for the Lionfish Derby which will be held on June 24th and June 25th 2011 at the Green Turtle Club. This annual event is lots of fun and offers cash prizes while also helping to eradicate (or at least control) the growing population of Lionfish in the Bahamas!
